RBS report paints damning picture of state of Welsh private sector

12.00.00am GMT Tue 13th Jan 2009

Commenting on the findings by Royal Bank of Scotland that the Welsh private sector contracted at a faster rate than the UK average in December, Welsh Lib Dem Shadow Economy Minister, Jenny Randerson AM said:

"This is the latest damning headline for the Welsh Economy. The fact that the contraction and confidence in the private sector is so much worse in Wales paints a very worrying picture as things are expected to get worse in the coming months.

"The Labour Governments' at both ends of the M4 are too busy patting themselves on the back about how they are saving the world to notice that Wales is in a horrific and dangerous position.

"We have warned for years that this crisis was coming. It is tragic that Labour refused to listen when times were good."
